Updates to Reciprocal Tariffs and De Minimis Postal Fees

It has been officially confirmed that the pause on higher reciprocal tariffs will take place for a 90-day period, beginning at 12:01 a.m. EST on April 10, 2025, and ending at 12:01 a.m. EST on July 9, 2025. This applies to goods entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse on or after 12:01 a.m. EST on April 10, 2025. During this time, an additional 10% tariff will be applied to goods from countries other than China, Canada, and Mexico.

Another tariff rate increase has been implemented under Executive Order 14256, which removes China and Hong Kong from de minimis eligibility effective May 2, 2025. For goods of China or Hong Kong that are shipped by international postal service, the duty rate will be 120% tariff on the value of the postal item or a specific duty of $100 per postal item. On June 1st, this amount will increase to $200 per item.
