During a press conference earlier today, it was announced that the reciprocal tariffs on goods from China, originally set to take effect at a rate of 34%, will now be increased to 84%.
Effective 12:01 a.m. EST on April 9, 2025, all goods imported from China, including those from Hong Kong and Macau, that are entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse, will be subject to this additional 84% duty. This tariff is in addition to the existing tariffs, including the Section 301 and IEEPA Fentanyl tariff of 20% that was implemented on March 4, 2025.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates.
