In a Press Release issued last week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced its mandatory eFiling will begin in approximately 18 months, with mandatory eFiling for FTZ withdrawals following another 6 months later.

The eFiling requirements will apply to all imported consumer products that are subject to mandatory safety standards, including those otherwise eligible for de minimis treatment.
In pilot since 2016, this program was recently expanded to include up to 2000 voluntary filers before the mandatory rule takes effect. Additional information on the voluntary stage can be found at: eFiling – CPSC’s Modern Approach for Filing Certificate Data | CPSC.gov/
